Interesting I have bought their tools without realising they were Oz made. Been around a while too per: https://www.mummetools.com/content/our-history and they make tyre levers and bead breaker bars so yes automotive related too.

Its good we seems to adding ones till here rather than more that have got though I suspect there are many more of the latter. I think Hardie Ferodo is no longer making brake pas here either. Champion (Federal-Mogul Corporation) were also one of the many making spark plugs in Australia at one time too until they went deliberately bankrupt saving that asbestos brake pad company from litigation settlements.

I think in addition to Bridgestone, Goodyear, Dunlop, Olympic and even Ian Diffen (so perhaps Bob Jane too when they were friendly competitors) also made tyres in Australia at one time. Anyone still making alloy wheels here and which companies used to? ROH only design and test here now per https://roh.com.au/about-roh-alloy-wheels/

Volvo/Mack still assemble trucks here with a fair bit of Aussie R & D input. the Mack Sleepers & Bonnets are made here, along with a fair bit of the interior Trim
'assemble' is VERY different to 'manufacture', I know Volvo and Iveco 'assemble' here but Kenworth manufactures here

Not tools as such, but Faber make tool boxes. You’ll pay big time for them though.
And I think the bloke, or one of them who started Faber may be doing it himself north of Perth under Red Dirt and Diesel tool boxes, at a fraction of the price. Waiting list is around 4 months, but worth it. Nice boxes.
