Got towed by dad in his ED 5k into town when the clutch cable snapped so I put down one. I'm not as brave as the child, my second gear synchro feels dodgy enough allready.

well my Sprint hasnt been towed anywhere yet (touch wood!)

but my EA was towed once. I had lined a guy up in a VN at the lights and creamed him, then went to have another run with at the next lights...busted an engine mount, the engine sort of lifted up and dented the bonnet then died...turned out as it had lifted it had pulled on the wiring loom and disconnected a few wires causing it to cut out...

My XD was never towed either, just couldnt kill that thing!

My old EA is the only car that I've owned thats been on a tow truck. T5 started making horrible crunching noises, got towed home and reversed down the driveway and it went bang about halfway down. One minced T5! lol.

That seems bloody expensive

Well I've had my EA (first car) for 7 years (3spd-cfi) and it's never seen a tow truck. Surely some luck involved.
I cant wait for it to break down though, then i can kick it and go get me a 5.0L ED/EF/EL/AU.
Damn hard to buy another car when there's nothing wrong with the current one.

ummmmm
EF has been on a truck once with a stuffed water pump,
EB hasn't yet.
XB coupe hasn't. it gets trailered.

my last coupe (XA) got trucked home 3 times after dropping its driveshaft (after i dropped the clutch lol)
i've had 3 other engineless falcons arrive at my place on trucks, then left with their own v8 power. hey, i gotta have a hobby lol.

Usually i just hire a car trailer, its usually cheaper. plus i have two cars with towbars ;)

Once for me, only because I didn't feel like stopping and drove into somebody.
Although a few close calls, my water pump pulley fell off and I boiled the coolant, fixed that on the side of the road. Had quite a few issues with the cooling system till I discovered bars leaks isn't as it great as it might seem.
I tend to lean towards the "limp home or fix on side of road" things. It's cheaper.

Pauly85: I was gonna say that it was surely a write off... there is roughly $3000 in parts in that crash, not to mention labour. Car would probably be insured for say, 7 or 8? I hope it works out for ya.

With the Fairlane, at least 7 times. Touch wood the new EL wont ever need it. Although, I did need the racq for a jumpstart this morning, cause after fitting the cd player and half the power windows, the battery was dead. Not bad for less than 24 hours ownership:P
