Having watched Locatoris F6 run the 9.6's @ 147 on ET streets the month before it's like watching a 8 sec car and an 11 sec car the different degrees of car movement down the track... Just goes to show how good the ZF is as a total package

Give credit where its due aye?

So to be a true racer you have to build a car that's hard to drive?

Haha Freddy im sure if you had a 6 speed auto you wouldnt say such stupid things.... for one minute im not knocking the guy behind the wheel (doing it tough I believe I said), the engine or the bloke that built/tuned it (not sure what expired on its last pass but im assuming it was the auto?).

What I am saying is that the 4 speed is hard work, and not as good as the 6 speed in this application, or as a street trans, or at the track actually come to think of it.

You dont have to defend something just because you own one yourself.

The only thing that's been replaced in my btr 4 speed is the planateries last year. I dare say my box has been modified like a dream to last 5 years and 130,000kms. I believe the certain valve body mod has kept it alive for so long.
All other parts are just the same as every btr box out there.
Manual shifting 100% and not kicking down gears has kept the clutches in check.

I agree though Zf is the best trans for street and strip

Have a slip that's quicker at 3/4 track by almost a tenth but the sensor played up and only read the 3/4 track speed and no full run...was 1mph up at half track as well with 102.xxmph so only one slip but she ran two tens in my mind.

Slightly slower 60ft but shift points were hit spot on...Ill take the 9 anyways....in all seriousness I think 10.90 was well on the cards here.

So slower 60ft doesn't always mean slower ET if the faster 60ft has badly hit shift points....hitting the gear at right RPM is still important in our torquey cars.

Had plenty of runs with my 550plus RWKW BTR 4 spd with never ever a problem at the track, running 10.o's back when the XRT record was 9.98.

Broke a band on the dyno one day, replaced it and good as new.

Box and converter owed me just on 3k, built smartly with all std components.

Not everyone has the option of a 6k rebuild on a ZF, coupled with a purpose built converter, quick 4spd cars are a joy.

Built 6spd cars are an animal, and very exciting to drive. Expensive, yes. Exciting, yes. More confidence in operations than a 4spd? for the most part, yes.

Continued development on the 6 speed will be exciting to say the least.

cheers. just finalizing the list. Interesting to see which tuners in the game have done anything over the last 12 months and which tuners not in the list still have not got anything in there.
