hi bought a heavy duty tow bar and wondered about the triangle bit in the boot how youd get around the gas tank.
the attached photo which is off the internet will give some idea, http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0d871663.jpg where the long flat bar is in front of that or somewhere there the lpg tank brackets while arent in same spot are in the way and the triangle bit wont clear the brackets without undoing the brackets and lifting tank. could you just undo the brackets and lift that end of the tank up so the triangle part in photo clears them then bolt it back up after or how do you get around the tank. cars a ef fairmont sedan and hd tow bar which is what questions about is also a ef sedan tow bar need some answers |

towbars are different for petrol & LPG Falcons. Got the right one ? |

All else is good both the car it came off and the one it's going onto are ef and sedans

The gas tank needs to be lifted a couple mm or a bracket made to work around the tank
|

are you talking about a gas tank with brackets. with a tank cradle it would be easy.
front bracket would be ok but ive come across 2 different rear brackets. one I fitted to EB Manchester that the bolts go in horizontal and might be a worry. the other AU tank went vertical through your bracket.so you may only need to drill and add spacer. spacer at the front would be made from 50mm square or a flat bar between both the 2 lugs. but you need clearance on the parcel shelf.

talking about a tank with brackets would the tank have to come out or can it just be slid or lifted a couple inches to get the triangle bit in that goes in the boot
would it matter if you didnt use the triangle bit that goes in the boot to bolt the bit infront of diff that bolts to that part through the floor or can you just cut up thick flat bar to go on the bolt holes in the floor that that triangle part would normally go in in the boot. or can you modify the triangle part like cut the flat bar on it shorter so that bit goes between the lpg tank brackets and weld more flat bar and weld those ends back so it goes around the brackets on the tank is there a way to modify the triangle part in boot so it clears the gas tank |
