EL or EF WAGON

Hi there,

I've just bought a 1996 el wagon with a few issues,
paid $700 bucks for it

I would like to know if this is a el or ef wagon for starters as my dad had a ef wagon same year model

first issue is that the rear doors don't open from outside and the drivers rear has child lock on as well
is there a way from inside the cabin to open it

it has duel fuel but when trying to put gas in it or does not want to fill up unknown if its the connection or the pump connection

if there any other things I should be looking for all the help is welcomed very much

To find out if it is an Ef or El wagon,just read what it says on the vin plates.Also,Ef will have a coil pack where as an El will have a distributor.

As said, popping the bonnet will confirm what it is.

Also there will be a few smaller differences around the car, but compliance plate is the most accurate.

Seems like you have a bit a work ahead of you.

Is it an Ef or El?

with the back door, you can undo the hinges and carefully open it by moving it till it lifts, i had to do this with an xf
