Hi

I have picked up a 1983 Tx5 lift back recently. Done 56000km one owner. Apart from minor rust and a few crows feet to the paintwork, the body is fine. Picked up to use to get to work and back once a week and thought at 56000km, i would get a few good years out of it yet.

I have an annoying electrical problem with the indicators / hazard lights that I am trying to trace. The indicators will only light up with the hazard switch on, hazard warnings will not come on when the switch is on but the R indicator works and the Left is on but is continuously on. Turn the indicator lever to off and no hazard lights. I have replaced two imasen relays but the problem hasn't changed. Thinking its a earth or short problem somewhere but can't find where??

Would you have the wiring diagram or anything that could help solve the problem?

Thanks

Brian

I think some one has been there before you

give me a day

yes I do have a wiring diagramme I can scan it in as soon as I find it
the repair manual is in my many boxes of repair manuals

possibly a mixed wire behind the hazard or at the turn signal lever or relays

a short would blow the fuse - but if it has no earth - no completed circuit
are all the exterior indicator bulbs working ?
what relay works what ..... try one at a time
the turn indicator switches and the hazard switch can be faulty
