Yes.

I use to drive vehicles such as Porsche, Saab Turbos, and other over rated Euro trash as part of a job I had years ago. The only thing that ever took my eye was a Porsche 928S, but generally I found these types of cars unimpressive. The ones that did go well were generally uncomfortable to get in and out of.

While the Veryon performance is impressive, it truly is an ugly heap.......if it were a woman you couldn't get drunk enough to wanna take it home.

From Clarkson's review, I am assuming he is hunting down that rich over compensating, self indulgent twat and asking "What the ****** did you do!?!"

Then try to take the car into protective coustody.

Ever seen a Veyron in the flesh? I have, and its a stunning car. Even ignoring whether you like its looks or not, its an engineering masterpiece. From an engineering point of view, the best road car, ever built, in the world, ever. As Clarkson said, its an automotive "concorde moment" in vehicle design and engineering. On that basis, you can park one in my driveway thanks.

As for your Eurotrash comment, I can only assume that you're trawling/baiting.........or that the last Porsche you drove was a clapped-out early 1970s Carerra.

Smile It was insured.... however...

There's a really sad story to the demise of this B375; apparently the bloke/drongo who owned it had rented it to a mate (er... ex mate) of his for ₤20,000 a day, and it was his mate driving at the time of the bingle...
Apparently as such there may be some huge problems with the insurance claim...
Call it intuition but I reckon his mate may also be in a bit of strife when attempting to retrieve any security deposit he may have lodged

No I've not seen one "in the flesh", but then again I don't lose sleep over the fact either. As for it's engineering, I'm pretty sure I made it clear I'm impressed with it from a performance aspect, my only disparaging remark was that I don't think it's an attractive vehicle asteticly.

There was no baiting intended, it's a figure of speech that shouldn't be taken personally....lighten up mate.

Mind you, at the same time, I've driven more than my share (except a Ferrari or Lambo....that might be fun) of European cars and earned the right to call them whatever I like ;)

Quasi,

Far be it for me to tell you how to express your opinions, but when you refer to Porsches and Saab Turbos and then in the same sentence immediately thereafter use the term "and other Euro trash" it tends to imply that you think those said cars, and European cars in general, are trash. I can only interpret your words in the way they're written, even if its different to what you mean.

PS. I'm no fan of Saabs just quietly, but I do have a lot of time for the newer Porsches, AMG Mercs, M-powered BMWs etc.

That's just the way I feel about it. That grill, apart from being shaped like a headstone, is reminiscent of somebody yawning. I do not like the front of the car, but those big rear quarters, to accomodate fat rear wheels and rubber, is a treat ('Baby got back' keeps running through my head for some reason ).

I became quite fond of a Maseratti I was thrown the keys to many years ago...georgous little car.

Unfortunately we need to remind ourselves sometimes that Fiat is also European. It's very difficult to jump out of a BMW 635, or even an Alfa Romeo GTV6 (not high on my list believe it or not) and realise the next car you need to take resonsibility for is a Fiat Bambino....

That’s not the sad story, mate. Stuff the car, it’s only a piece of metal. If there’s anything wrong with the pregnant lady or her unborn baby, he’ll have more than a bent Bugatti to worry about.

Amidst all the disparaging remarks about the Veyron, I thought it best to remind people that it is the shape it is purely for aerodynamic reasons. The car has a top speed of 407 km/h and is surprisingly very stable at that speed. All of the other super cars are at the ragged edge at top speed, as they are not shaped to best utilise the air as efficiently as possible; the Bugatti is. Essentially, it is a giant wing that has been modified to allow for a cockpit.
That being said the Bugatti is by far the most impressive car available, never has so much technology been put to such good use in a road going vehicle. As for people saying it is ugly; it's all in the eyes of the beholder - some say E series are really dog ugly, others say AU's are ugly and some say commodores are ugly. But, should you actually do a little research on the Bugatti you may find yourself pleasantly surprised by just how amazing this vehicle is; especially when the cost of it is something in the vicinity of 5 million pounds each. As for Porsche comparisons, was it the cockster S or just the plain cockster?

I just watched a clip on the xr6T forum's , the guy cracked 4o7k's in one on a 5mile long track. It's not just the fact that it can hit 4ook's but the speed at which it get's there is truley amazing, at 4o7 he was talking to the camera as if he was doing 1ook's on the freeway. I couldn't belive how stable it was at those speeds, you would think if someone modded it there's still more left. Edit anyone.

That is my heartbreaking moment right their. I mean, i knew this would eventually happen, but i was hoping that it never would. Such beautiful machinery gone to waste. BTW those photo's are of the pre production Bugatti, the Production Veyron has its grill Further forward where the number plate is and the wheels are different. This car is bigger than anything ever created in the car scene, and i dont believe that we will ever see anything eclipse it.

What an ugly car.

I cannot believe somebody would pay 800k for that.

Give me a Falcon anyday. Sure, I don't get the BS exclusivity crap with it and it isn't as fast, but who cares? It may be inferior in quality, handling etc...meh...any car driven irresponsibly and incorrect is a danger on the roads.
