Hyundai Plans to Launch Takeover of FIAT Chrysler.

"The CEO of Hyundai Motor Group plans to launch a takeover bid for Fiat Chrysler ahead of the planned retirement of FCA Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne next spring, Asia Times reports, citing unnamed sources close the situation. CEO Chung Mong-koo will wait for an expected decline in the Italian-American automaker's shares to make his move.

Hyundai isn't commenting on the rumors, unsurprisingly, but would presumably stand to benefit by gaining Chrysler's dealer network and the lucrative Jeep brand and probably Ram, too. An FCA spokeswoman in Auburn Hills told Autoblog the company had no comment.

I fail to understand why Hyundai would want Fiat/Chrysler. They are practically bankrupt with no new models in the pipeline and high cost factories that cannot be closed.

Ah that old chestnut.....
Back in the day Fiat/Alfa...on a quiet night you could hear them rusting in your driveway...The Italians were too tight to put them on the deck of the ship so they towed them behind it..

I worked with a guy, who just happens to be of Italian Heritage, and he has restored a VC with another on the go.

I used to have a 300c. Engine dying at 8 years old and 92,000kms was annoying and I wasn't happy because it was my daily, but it was cool car and wouldn't mind another one as a second car, as long as it is one with an engine that doesn't have valve seat issues.
I was angry at the time, but I wish I still had it now as a weekender.
I had no real issues apart from the valve seat. Not bad for an 8 year old American POS.

Ford has had issues with valve seats dropping, so can't be too harsh here.

Wonder if Hyundai will increase Jeeps warranty from 5 years to 7.
My Jeep with it's 5 year warranty has been back to the dealer with zero warranty claims so far, unlike the Ranger with it's lousy 3 year warranty. It went back a few times. Once within the first year.
