Slight error in dates as shown above;
First build date was July 1976 (10 of, Falcon GS and no Fairmonts) and Release date (Media Release date that is) from memory was October 1976.

although i have just cut and pasted this, to me it is when the car was produced, not sold. for instance vic roads considers mine a jan 74 car. in my opinion it has always been a dec 73 car

Old McRobertsons Gold - only 2 coupes were made in that colour and one is the infamous "Chicken Coup" . Rare as hens teeth

i believe, the coupe interior is narrower at the back than the sedan. also the driver and front seat passenger sit 2 inches lower than the sedan. i assume that would mean the rear seat passenger do as well, which would suggest the coupe seat is smaller in height too

without a huge amount of work, they would not fit

Are you sure? I wrecked a ZG fairlane a while ago. The rear seat looked better than my XB coupe rear seat. Both the top and bottom fitted in the coupe no problems.

the interior was bare, no carpet or door trims. Dont know if that makes a difference. They fitted and I sat in it. I've kept them to use as I like them better, but still keeping the coupe seat also.
