Tail lights and headlights look crap in my opinion. When I squint I see a large version of a Japanese hatchback

I think the GTS will look better with the R8 or Senator lip instead of the wing
Imagine one of these in auto with the ZF in it instead of the crappy 6L90e |

Very, very impressive kit and technology, many of the things in the GTS I've been calling for in the FPV for ages.
Ford have some really hard work to do to catch up. |

I agree that the Senator looks the pick of the range from a looks perspective.
Will be even better when it comes with the new direct injected 5.5 engine which probably has all the power that's really needed. |

There's no 5.5. Gen V engines retain the same displacements as previous. 4.3 V6, 5.3 V8, 6.2 V8. No 4.8 or 6.0 announced so far, and I doubt there ever will be.

From side on it looks nice, and looks like it has a purpose. But the front and rear just look awkward. The shape of the headlights simply don't gel with the shapes and lines of the front bar, and that G-string arrangement on the back looks just plain weird.

While the HSV has "stepped" up with regards to the engine, remember they have only just asnwer what Ford have had for a while.
We know there is a Falcon update coming so thats good news, and everyone who has seen something has commented it looks the goods...so now we just jave to hold out with some sticker packs Pretty unreal to think what the locals are packing now, the reviews/comparisons are going to be pretty good and it will be interesting to see how that extra 1.2L translates in the real world

It's strange as it looks not so good in the pics but in the video it looks okay.
I'll have to wait and see one in the metal (plastic) before I pass judgement. Who's gonna be brave and predict the 1/4 mile and 0-100 times for the GTS. I reckon > 0-100 4.3 secs 1/4 mile 12.3 secs

0-100 4.4 secs 1/4 mile 12.6 secs But either way, no matter the numbers, it will never make up for its looks, or the $100k + price tag.

Never thought I'd see people putting "muscle car" and "beauty contest" in the same sentence or even paragraph. Yes, its not the prettiest, but its an awesome car! HSV have given us the car that we all wish that FPV would have built (or will build next year)! I couldnt care less how it looks but I love the idea of this car. It has all the features we have seen in AMG's and M's that we have all salivated over in a car locally made at under $100k! Self parking, blind spot monitoring, heated seats, magnetic suspension, torque vectoring etc. everything people have complained was missing in locally made cars is in this car and a super V8 (yes, I know the Ford donk is great and numbers understated, etc..) and all I keep reading is that its ugly, its wearing a G String... 430 KW and 740Nm of torque really puts it against the Euro performance cars. And if Ford want to be competitive at this end of the range, they need something special; and not even a badge exercise. I fear the R spec will not be enough against this car.
And I would buy one in 2015/16 when I plan on getting my next V8. (But I'm hoping Ford counter so I dont need to jump to the darkside!)

Off topic, but yes. It looks Tough... not beautiful! If we dissect the car like this topic, people would be saying, the windows have a pointed edge and the rest of the rear quarter panel is curved, it doesnt line up right, etc.. Point is, it doesnt matter in a Muscle car. It looks tough! Enough said!

Love the front and the profile. Dislike the back (though the exhaust looks horn, reminds me of an R35)
Can we please get someone to stomp on the GTS?! I want to hear it at full wail. |

Well one cannot feel that HSV now have a beast that is truly and significantly better than anything that Ford has currently. I think these cars would look mean in the flesh even though I find that rear end a bit hideous. The tech inside this vehicle and the audacity of HSV to plonk a 430kw supercharged monster into the guts of this thing only speaks volume for their vision. Obviously the real performance will be metered out very shortly with all comers giving their personal reviews and obviously the split times that we all like to know for "ego" purposes...hehe
The F6 kept us in the hunt until the 335 came along and we had a two pronged attack that kept them HSV boys quiet but not anymore and trust me they will be singing loud proud and from the top of the tree tops swinging with joy and who blames them afterall 430 killa wasps and 700 plus neutron atomic torque will be sitting under the hood waiting to unleash on us Ford owners

HSV have invested in the car housing the engine, not the engine like FPV had to, I guess they had no money left in the bank to develop the extra things you get in a HSV.
HSV are onto a winner here, FPV sales you would imagine have to suffer with the release of this car. Note how HSV marketed the upspec NA engineat 340, 5 more than the GT. Why Ford didn't come out from day one with the correct badge number is a mystery because now the perception all the supercharger on the little 5.0 doesn't make as much as the HSV's little engine. |

Hats off to HSV, these things are awesome. FPV are in big trouble I'm afraid.
This has puzzled me for ages- they should have milked the advantage while they had it. HSV certainly aren't holding back their numbers and rightfully so- to a lot of people the power figure sells the car. |

When the commodore launched and we saw the interior pictures, i had a sneaking suspicion that they were going to have an iDrive like knob and system in prestige models. Well, the HSVs have the knob in the area, but its for setting up the traction control.
I wonder if the Statesman or Caprice will get the idrive-like system |

It looks like it's wearing a G-string at the rear. On certain angles it's kind of erotic if you stare in at the lower middle of the rear.
