This is what annoys me most of all.
Poor people making poor purchasing decisions !!!

The evidence is all around us that there is much better metal for the money.

Yep, and by quoting Drive will help to appease the honcho's there too. Which in turn might help them pull Gover a little closer to being 2 eyed.

For those that are happy with Ford's advert, contact them. It DOES get noticed.

Now, to "Car Advice tested 6 large cars.
Sixth Place – Holden Commodore Calais V-Series V6 (SIDI)
Fifth Place – Toyota Aurion Presara
Fourth Place – Honda Accord Luxury V6
Third Place – Skoda Superb Elegance V6
Second Place – Nissan Maxima Ti
First Place – Ford Falcon G6E Turbo

You will not find anything that matches it in terms of performance, luxury and space."

I had to pinch myself when I saw the ad in today's West Australian - I think I'm going to like this more confident, assertive Ford :

What a great ad. THey really need to get the message out there and this was a good start - should be extended to t.v.

While i realise sometimes people need a car sooner rather than later, and we are a 'i want it now' materialistic society to boot, sometimes a bit of forward thinking is required. Honeslty if you are going to be keeping a car for years what is a few months to get the right one? Particularly if it is your private vehicle. I don't have much confidence in Ford supply mob because they have done this numerous times before, but in the current climate you'd rather a company took this cautious approach then get caught with their proverbial pants down.
I waited 2 months. :P

However, I turn and burn my cars - partly for tax, partly because I get bored with them. I'm 1.5 years into owning my R32 and I'm poking around car yards for potential next cars. I'm figuring another year when the pre-programmed part of my brain goes flick and I'll want my new car yesterday.

When I bought my XR8, I went to work as normal, between jobs decided to go window shopping at a Ford dealer while I waited for the appointment time and drove home in my brand new car that night. I had absolutely no intention of getting a new car when I left home that morning but that's just how things go.

People are prepared to wait for a vehicle, that's fine. There are people like me that don't find a vehicle more desirable because the absolute earliest you'll be able to own one is 6 months from now. That was my point, not that it's silly to wait. Having to wait at least 6 months for a local car that's been out for a year makes it less desirable to me.

Wow.

I dont think there is to much malicious in stating some facts.

Something I have noticed in business is that the vast majority of the time the nice guy finishes last. Unfortunately. So you need some mongrel now and then if you want to balance it.
The AU was not a better product...

It was a better built car but as far as looks, options, power (V8) and look at me factors it lacked big time..

The AU is partly to blame why ford still struggles on sales...

It's about time the gloves came off a bit. :

I've been hoping for something like this since the "diesel Captiva more economical than Territory" ads.

Yep. GMH opened that can of worms. So, now it's bitten them back on a vehicle which sells 3x the volume for them, compared to the vehicle they were spruiking.
