judging by the FE of 2.7 EB F150 to 2.3 EB Ranger, there's not really much in it.

You'd think with 2.0 EB Mondeo ebbing away, Ford would at least offer a 2.0 EB
or the 2.7 EB in Endura but they don't do either in RHD....
So so true. With Utes and we are more aligned to the USA as buyers, with passenger cars we tended to favour the better dynamics offered by euro vehicles (which our locally produced passengers cars did so well) and now have most Asian manufacturers comparing well in this regard. The Euro market has had to live with more congested cities, shorter average travelling distances, lower typical towing loads and higher fuel prices and so their vehicle choices have reflected this...we on the other hand, while having fuel rise (not as high) have come from a different buyer mindset and only the top end Euro SUV's or Jeep GC and a whole host of unavailable US models better match this in the larger sizes.

And one more very important point, a seven seater isn't always bought because you need to carry seven people all the time, it's bought because they tend to have more cargo space...

Just read the review of Endura on drive.com.au

Comes out as ordinary with the engine struggling for performance above 60.

That seems odd with 400nm of torque?

Does seem odd when it has 400Nm from 2000-3000rpm and an 8 speed auto. At 60km/hr it would be just above idle when cruising

Bev, Wikipedia content is what some punter in the WWW types into it.

The autoexpress article is reporting out on the facts they have been given.

Read further on your Wikipedia link and it mentions Edge
The Panthers ( Ecoblue) are replacing all of fords older 1.6 to 2.2
Be they PSA J/V engines or the truck / transit Pumas.

Remember Wikipedia articles are posted by people who may not know everything about full usage of Ecoblue, it’s not a definite source of information.

As a matter of interest, Ford Aust has said they got feedback from Territory owners on things like using the same name on an imported vehicle, what type of future vehicle buyers would like, and so on...now I've owned quite a few Territory's and amongst my extended family a "small car yard" in numbers over the years and not one has been asked a thing from Ford on future product planning. Has anyone here been involved in this research. From memory the new car buyers survey that is sent out never covered these topics either and I've completed a few as well.

Maybe they read the forums

I was one of many that said loud and clearly they should show some respect and put the Territory name to bed along with Falcon. If it's replacement was not to be made here (as a Falcon derivative) then it IS NOT a Territory.

One of the few occasions they may have listened to a previous buyer.

To quote myself;

But the Edge is not a Territory the same way a Mondeo or Taurus is not a Falcon.

The Territory name plate should also be retired IMHO to allow it to be remembered as Australia's only home grown crossover (SUV), and a great one at that.

I did,

"Mr Henker said the Panther engine family, from which the Endura’s unit is derived, can be customised at factory, with this process resulting in the Australian-market solution."

My take on this is they could easily get the engine in different Guise's.
just like the UK have 3 variations, their ST gets the bi turbo..

we get one variant.

ST-Line, the ST is North America only with the 2.7 Ecoboost.

I'm reading our Endura promises 6.7L/100 is that right?

Base model X5 with its 2L (170kw twin turbo) diesel suggests 5.5L/100 which admittedly seems pretty ambitious

Just like cheating on diesel emissions, there's been a lot of fudging gong on with getting best possible FE figures.
Not saying that this is the case with the X5 but if you think about it, 5.5 l/100 km combined is a bit out there for an X5.

Every variant of Endura costs money to develop, I see this as a low cost toe in the water to gauge interest.
I bet this engine was offered to FoA because it was an easy almost off the shelf completed tune.

Yep I agree, sounds like a way to get cost out of the vehicle to me.

It's interesting that in the new UK versions are150 PS (111 Kw) and 238 PS (177 Kw)
are more extreme than the previous 180 PS (134 Kw) and 210 PS (157 Kw)
