Hi Fellow Ford Fans, just to introduce myself my last 4 cars have been fords with a few company cars that were not in the middle.first car 1965 XP falcon,Second car XM 2 door falcon whish i still had them.Next 1969 Fairlane then ZH Fairlaine.
then i modernised purchased a 2001 AU XR8 ,moved onto a BA XR8 whick i have had for 10 years. Here is the sad and glad news the Ba Has to go as i have just purchased one of the future Pursuit utes Ltd Edition.Orange with 6 speed manual. The hard thing is they are not starting to build them till june/july and i probably wont see it before end august.Apart from being a ford nut i am also a Kawasaki Nut having 4 900 bikes in variable models and styles so as you can see i hate a bit of grunt.I own a bicycle shop for a living and mainly sell TREK bikes. That enough of a rant for a start.Except anyone want to buy a Red Ba XR8 5 speed manual one owner.

G'day team,
My name is Les and I've owned an AUII (early 2001) with LPG conversion (so it's dual fuel) for about 3 years. Bought it for cheap transport, as my work is about 35 km away. Has been reliable, but needing all the typical maintenance for a car (AU, specifically) of this age and mileage (397,00 km now): engine leaks, thristy auto, radiator flogged out, power steering leak (leading to the alternator replacement), rubber bushes worn or swollen due to oil leaks, steering rack, ball joints, coil pack, front rotors, seat belts not retracting. Currently trying to repair the timing belt tensioner and will replace the steering rack this weekend (all going well) to clear the car for pink slip.
Really appreciate the tech documentation, and the photos/pictures help me heaps (must be a visual learner). Anyway, I may have to start a new thread, or resurrect an oldie (is there a forum policy about thread resurrections?) later if I can't get the timing tensioner back in.
I'm also a homebrewer on the Aussiehomebrewer forum, and this is my second web forum membership.
Les out

You should find answers to most of your questions in the AU Forum.....

Thought I'd pop in here, im starting to tinker and fiddle with my fiesta and there's heaps of useful info on here, great forum!

Howdy All. Been scoping out these forums for ages thought i'd hook myself up. I'm a carpenter in the Riverina with my daily drive being a bronze XC 4.1 Ute.
Apart from that i have just about every variation of XD, XE & XF floating around. ( both in pieces or as a whole) Looking fiorward to learning as much as i can and lending a hand with what I do know.

Hi all, good to be back in a Ford and on Ford Forums.

The sad and impending demise of Ford/FPV motivated me to search for a mint BA/BF GT to 'replace' a BA1 GT I always regretted letting go a few years back .... job done and I picked up a FPV BF2 GT 6spd last weekend!

I do enjoy the sage advise of the many learned contributors to this forum ... cheers

Hi all! Currently carless, but getting sick of the bus and hopefully about to return to the fold.

I have had: XE, XF, ED & KE (as well as HJ, N13, and whatever that mitsubishi and the vans were...).

The next car is likely to be either 98 Mondeo (really cheap!) or an EL (cheap!).

Default BA-BF FPV Pursuit issues?

Hi All
I'm new to the forum, but I have enjoyed information from this site a few times before joining myself, wondering if anyone has information or an idea for my issue, the issue is as follows, sometimes when I start my BA Pusuit it seems like the ignition timing goes into an advanced state? Causes a backfire through the exhaust, and the engine stops cranking as if it was firing too early (easy fix if it had a distributor) I can leave it for a minute and try again and it will start fine, it runs fine, smells a little rich from time to time, it has never been tuned since I have had it @5 years, thought maybe somebody may have had a similar experience? Battery is new, fuel pump and filter @ 2 months old, problem has been on and off for 12 months or so, only ever ran BP Ultimate fuel.... Any ideas would be great, or should I just get it plugged in and diagnosed??

Gday all. New member just picked up a 99 AU Fairmont lay week. I've owned plenty of Toyota's in the past. This is my second AU.
I believe it's liquid silver in color, completely standard except for an aftermarket LPG system.
Mainly here for the tech articles :-)
