Even the 'smaller' size is in the RWD plans... Seem far more advanced in planning for RWD than Ford is... Hopefully we get some here in future.

There's a thought. What will happen to all of the body manufacturing gear at Ford and Holden? Maybe there will be a Chinese-made copy? they did it with MG....

Sold off for scrap, or sold off for other businesses to use. The tooling will probably end up being destroyed.

Highly unlikely Ford will sell its IP and other rights to the cars, badges etc.

I reckon it will be all toast, other than plenty of the standard gear. Basically a repeat of the Mitsubishi closure.

Ford may send some of the equipment to Thailand.

Alot of it would be old and well worn though you would think.

It would be a bit like the sending typewriters back to your IT department because they are not needed any more

Maybe they should save some of the stuff for the Ford museum in Geelong! ........but hang on they closed that one down too didn't they

Not a lot, but Line 21 would go to an Asian plant for sure.

Dibs on the kickass 5-stud rattle gun they use to fit the wheels.

Someone will go through the joint after it closes to asses what can be sold and what will be scrapped (just like they did with FPV). Not sure how they will go about selling stuff but I would think they would use an auction company and do it in one big hit.

Let's do an AFF group buy of the Broadmeadows factory and Geelong engine plant. Then, all the Falcon wish-list threads can come true and we can all stop whinging!

Happy days!

I'm sure it is fairly common, but for someone who knows nothing about manufacturing and assembly robots, I was amazed to see how it all came together.

when they stripped out part of AMO last year Grays Auctions had an on-site viewing so I'd expect similar.
