I had a weird one several years ago. Among several other vehicles, I have a 2006 Nissan Navara D22 ute and a 2008 Hyundai i30. One night I noticed the brake lights were illuminated on the ute, which was parked and locked in the driveway. I went out and ended up disconnecting the brake light switch until I could look at it the next day.
It turned out that the little plastic pad on the brake pedal that contacts the switch had disintegrated. Nissan wanted some stupid amount of money for this little pad so I went down to the big green shed and bought a pack of about 6 or 8 of those little pads that you stick on the bottom of chair legs and so on to protect your floors. Popped one of those into position and it worked perfectly. I kid you not, the very next day the i30 did exactly the same thing and got the same fix. Those little pads are still in both cars and the problem has never reoccurred! |
