Netflix, Hulu+ and Amazon. That's enough TV for any man (with the exception of live sport).
Use all three via a VPN, and have the option of switching over to any Netflix region of your choosing.

I prefer Roku 3 over Apple TV, but both do the job.

And another thing. With a VPN, Netflix and a decent internet connection, you can watch TV on your iPad while travelling. Easy.

for those interested in the AppleTV

i went looking for another one for the second TV I thought I would see if I could get a second hand one on eVilbay and found them almost as expencive as new

then I found that the apple store has "refurbished units for $89 delivered http://store.apple.com/au/product/FD...au-kwg-pla-btb

Covered by Apple’s one-year limited warranty
Covered by Apple’s 14-day returns policy

So for me that's cheaper than a second hand one on ebay and it has 12 months warranty

Theyre $106 at Harvey N. Not sure on new warranty though.
Chromecast is $43 at Harvey N. this week, and contrary to the bloke selling them, they are compatible with Apple products. Ill get one tomorrow.

While I haven't used the Chromecast I have friends with it and they use it with their iPhones and iPads I thin The Hardly Normal bloke is trying to upsell

Ha yeah that's what I thought. I went in just earlier and bought one, and walked past that same salesman holding one and just smiled. Theyre on sale at $39.

I skipped the gym tonight to play with chromecast. So i have streamed netflix from my iphone 5 and found that it kinda of fritzes a little bit when trying to stop a movie, but it may just be me. I messaged my mate who was the one who suggested to me to get a chrome cast and he hasnt had any issues.

One bonus use i got out of chrome cast was, i decided to download google chrome, for 2 reasons. There are other programs and what not i can stream including internet pages and youtube etc. but i run divx media software, and they have updated it with chrome cast mating which functions through a google chrome ad on. So i can now stream the media library from my pc through my stereo/tv easily. However, the only issue is to play/pause/fwd media is done through the PC. I have laptop so this makes life easier, but if you had a desktop and streaming to a tv in another room, itd mean youd have to get up a lot.

Now to buy a coffee machine which i can stream coffee to my mouth...

Nope, not just me. Googled and heaps of other people are having the same issues. Rather than rebooting the chromecast, it seems the easiest solution around this is to start casting/streaming something else then disconnecting that. Annoying.

I downloaded it on Saturday with a 1 month trial.

So far all the boring TV shows and movies are there. I guess I need to search for good movies and it will then generate ones I like.
Not a fan on how you navigate, there should be an option to remove movies that I know I will never want to watch.

Once signed up (presumably to AU) can I access the US lists?

Activated it on my xbox. I watched an Aziz Ansari standup, now stuck on a show called Blue Mountain State... well played Netflix, well played.

I'm stuck on 'Orange is the new black' for the gripping story lines of course... The boobs and lesbian scenes do nothing for me. Honest.

is there away to remove shows once you've watched them?

Its not like I want to watch "hot girls wanted" or after porn ends and then remove it so the kids don't see I've watched it

Log in to your account...

Under 'My Profile' click Viewing Actitivy

This brings up a menu with what you've watched/want to watch.

Click the 'X' to remove the program you don't want.

If you get around the geo blocking then you can.

I think it's tunnelbear that is free for about 500mg then to use more you have to pay but most people recommend that.

I haven't tried it yet as I haven't figured out how to set it up without a computer and use it for the Xbox but will give it a shot soon.
