Hold out, it seems more and more people who are getting out of dearer models or who want a weekend toy are looking for these models. I wouldnt sell it at that price.

for the age and model of the car the price is right, the km are exceptionally low yes, but this will count for little in a market that is nearly impossible to sell in.

I can't even get a bite at $9k, though I reckon the car is worth more.

If you need to sell it, and this buyer is your only option, then let it go. If not, keep it.

this is exactly what I have found I wish my car had 150,000 on the clock as it would be easy to sell at this price, the market for 10 year old v8s is so quiet had the car advertised for 5 months had 2 genuine bites!!! the price of fuel is killing people who has a spare $100 to fill these beasts for 400klm of driving.

Unfortunately thats about the going price nowadays but with only 92k on the clock and such a low offer Id just keep it,..that is unless you have something new to replace it already.

Anyone looking to pay top dollar for this model (AUIII XR8) wants a manual - will pay more $$$ for a manual.

yes, these cars are worth more - no doubt (hell, an e-series XR6 goes for around $5k these days - to me, they are worth much more than that)

the price someone wants and the selling price are two different scenarios. This is something that a lot of people on carsales need to become aware of. I've seen BA Ghia's in great condition with reasonable KM's go for 9 grand. There are other idential examples with advertised prices of around 17 grand. This is the difference between price wanted and real world sale prices.

No, but if you have any desire to be rid of it within the next 12 months - take it. In 6 or 12 months you'll be getting offers of $7k or worse IMO - not saying the car isn't a great, it's just how it works. BA XR8's are already heading toward $10k, won't be long until they start getting advertised in the 9's - then you'll really struggle.

Traded a 2007 GT BF 2 and got 28k ....the *** has dropped out of the used car market .
Cost me plenty to quit the lease. I practically gave away a TE50 I had for a short time three years ago and rue the day now.If you can keep it ,I would. I reckon the 220kw Windsor is the pick and I wish I had some cash as I would buy your XR8.

Yeap take the money! I wouldn't pay any more than ten for a s3 manual.

Low K's just help sell it faster imo.

I did the same in the middle of last year, if some of you guys knew the $$$ it went for im sure id be chased out the door, twas less then the asking price of this XR8. But thats the way the market is unfortunately.

as the sayin go's you can only get what someone is prepared to pay. I brought my maual S1 xr8 for 8 last year but also had lpg. That was the only reason i brought it. couldnt afford to drive a V8 on petrol. 450km for $40.

Id let it go for those $$. I think thats a fair and decent price in a harsh and tight market.
Being Auto, its just another auto xr8, and theres no shortage of those, especially if you factor in b series units for not far off the same coin.

Back in December 2010, I paid 10k for my Manual 220kw Series 3 XR8 with Rebel Body Kit and Momo equipment. It had 110k klms on the clock and came with a full Roadworthy certif and 6 months rego thrown in..

The markets only gotten harder and tighter since. Id seriously consider taking that offer.. Real seriously if you need to or have to move it on.

I have to agree with 9k being a good price.
Iv been watching the activity on carsales pretty closely, as i wish to purchase a s3 au 8 in the near future. Some of the 8's on there seem way to over priced for what they are. like series 1's with 200ks+ asking over 10.

although we all believe they are worth more, truth is the BA's are dropping, in turn dropping the AU's even lower

And mine was picked up 4 hours ago - last time I drove it was over a week ago too, so didn't get a "known" last drive. Oh well, sounded good going down the street when the new owner drove off, and the cash in hand was some compensation.
