Default needed mild cam for 78 2lt

needed mild cam for 78 2lt. my oil feeder blocked on one outlet so thought i may as well get a mild grind cam for it. don't know if cheaper to get mine done or buy used one already ground. all info appreciated.

Might be a good idea to have a new cam. A new spray bar is also recomended. Might be advisable to have the follwers checked aswell useually they get flat spots form lack of oil and if you replace one you might aswell replace them all.

Im no expert but I dont think there would be much point buying a new cam if you were going to run it with all your existing valve train components as new surfaces and old ones dont mesh well. If you were going to go with a new cam id replace all the valve train components and go with a cam 'kit'. With all new surfaces you cant go wrong but it does cost a bit.

my engine has a crane camshaft with collets, twin valve springs and new oil bar.

all works together nicely

well awhile back i had to get a new head because a valve stopped working in mine when i bought the head off a guy the old man new it had a Speco cam( the exact same cam ford used in the 2.0L rally cars in the late 70's.), double valve springs and the oil bar came with it.
the head had also been ported and polished but stock valves should be fine escorts don't need much bigger if its for road if your going to race it then maby mine revs to over 6000 rpm and im shore most standard 2.0L do as well

yeah i was reading if you machine a set of datsun rods with vw pistons onto the crankshaft and balanced of course.. it can do 8000k becuase apparently the rods are the pintos weakness?
