ive no idea how these things work... i thought that shiny glass looking bit was like the bulb and stuff. :| so basically, if i put like narva artic blues or phillips blue vision bulbs behind that, theyd look Euro?

In a way yes ... still not HID quality ... but getting close.
No dark patches in the beam either .. same light quality across the entire beam .... with maybe a little light refraction at the top beam cut-off (causing a slight blue/gold colour). A hole is cut in the back of the light housing (where the normal globe sits) ... and the projector is put in place and stuck in (i'd say a high temp adhesive ... even plastic welding maybe) ... but getting it aligned isn't easy ... but it still allows to use the high adjustors on the back of the light. The globe that was used in the original light (NC Fairlane) will still fit within the projector (hence a different type of globe is used ... and also wiring needs to be change as it will go from a dual-filament H4 to a single filament H7 (or was it H1 ... I keep forgetting). Wiring is the tricky part when flicking to highbeam though.

dok, just a suggestion,
you could use the same white adapter as per the high beam reflector onto the projector H1, with the rubber cap... will be as watertight as you can get, and look factory etc... as for getting the seal fitted, plastic weld in a couple of the cap "rings" off some broken housings to extend the housing to suit |

Good to hear you have the wiring sorted out as well.
I have a spare set of rubber covers sitting at home as well ... I presume a little extra trimming is needed on the covers (carefully) for an airtight/watertight fit. Also good to hear you are looking at making more as well

Looks great doc.
Could the projector be adapted to an AU Fairlane Light? If so, i would be very interested in it... Cheers, Michael

: Hey guys, for those of us attending the AU BBQ day on the 23rd, because of the huge reaction I've received (@30 pm's/@10+ pair), I am intending to bring along a (demo) pair of these "modified AU headlights" for anyone who is interested at having a look at them in the flesh, I do believe they look much better than they are portrayed in the pics (no offence Duffman). To date, no more have been produced due to time constraints, so Duffman still has the ONLY pair. I WILL be producing more of these (some without the projector) & may even offer the bezel mod on it's own.

Bit of an updated on the docs lights. So far they have worked perfectly not a single thing has gone wrong. The wiring is all fine and they are functioning correctly with no side effects from having a projector. The lights are great compred to the aftermarket gear for the fact they are built solid and fit in perfectly unlike aftermarket units which just dont seem to fit correctly.
The dok has done a great job but I don't know how he got the light output to be soo good. Iv seen the projectors in a fairlane and they where ok output but in the au they are great. I must say anyone who buys a set will definately not be disappointed. The new bezel mod they dok has done looks the best by far as it matches up perfectly with the bonnet and the headlights look slimmer. I think though most people will be surprised by the quality of the light output more then anything else. Once again dok great job!

Well $700 later I have a digital camera!!!!!!!!!!
Rather then re-size them all to small images here they are in big pics; http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new2.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new3.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new4.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new5.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new6.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new7.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new8.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new9.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new10.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new11.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/au2/new12.jpg

duffman, your car needs mods now.....big rims, lowered etc etc....
also if it were mine, i'd paint the grille a contrasting colour with the lights , ie black / grey / something.... otherwise, they look great..! |

Id recommend these lights to anyone who wants to get rid of their cheap nasty chrome ford ones and leave the stone ages of reflectors. Even dr evil is impressed

i think you need to bring the right side beam out to the right a little...... you can see the lines on the ground, pointing as a "triangle"... should be pointing straight on...
they look great....look to light up better than in a fairlane for some reason.....( i found them pretty poor in the fairlane hence trying to find something different....hence my BMW reflectors/projectors......) |

Definately I would kick the RH up & out a little (as explained via PM), what I do find disturbing however.............is the likeness of me to "Dr Evil", we discussed this & I distinctly remember saying not to use it........... :yeees:
