Default ED on a diet

Righto lads ive an ED here (GLi classic ???)
For a little fun i wanna see what can be removed as excess weight to get a better 1/4 mile time
Now its low low budget , so im at this stage looking at weight reduction rather than spending
So what have people removed as excess weight and what if anything did it acheive
Is a full interior strip out that beneficial at the track
Is stuff like running alloy rims as opposed to steel rims that much difference ???
Is there a formula that for every KG you remove will reduce the 1/4 times ???
Or is that another myth ???

Any ideas ???

Edit :
Years ago we done similar to a torrie, but we drilled big holes in the doors, but the metal was alot stronger , will the ED doors go floppy if i went that savage ???
We also removed excess steel from the bonnet and boot shells and removed all hinges and brackets and went to a 4 pin style , is there much reduction doin that to an ED, as its struts on the bonnet rather than hinges ???
