As soon as they finish the eastlink, the scummy labor government will find another dot on their dartboard to ***** with and sell as a toll road.
They need another road across the yarra and also join the tulla with the eastern freeway
There is still the geelong bypass, deerpark bypass, pakenham bypass and the widening of the monash to finish.

Don't forget the Dingley bypass, which has been in the Melways since forever.

You guys think you have problems...

You should see the pathetic attempt of the Windsor Road upgrade in Sydney.
A complete shambles for over 2 Years.

And the Deer Park Bypass, this has been long awaited. But no matter how much is spent, and how many bypasses and flyovers are built, the bottlenecks will only be relocated.

Having driven in both Syd before the Hume fwy went through Campbelltown and Melb before the S.E. freeway was built I'd say that there will always be roadworks somewhere in both cities.

But dont complain in Melb. Down there they build roads properly unlike Syd where they just concrete over old Aboriginal walking tracks and add footpaths !

WERD!
With all the concrete barriers and stuff its like drving in a big 4 and most the time 2 lane storm water drain.
Although it is there to protect the road workers from silly speeding motorists.
I've seen this in the flesh. What might have been just a 2 car accident turned into a 6car pile up one morning... But the road workers were OK. They were taking photos.

I hear in the USA if you run down(fatally) a road worker its 10Years in the big house :ymca:
DOT NOT pass go, DO NOT collect $200

Yeah, I drove in Sydney once, what a shambles, whoever planned them (if they were planned at all) must have been incapable of drawing a straight line.

But seriously, why would the roadworks ever finish, the city is growing, more people = more traffic on a road network that already struggles to keep up.

They are not finished until the eliminate traffic congestion 100%, and when will that be, hmmmm......never.

Whats the go with the last few km's of highway into Geelong lately?

Travelling for a drive today from melbourne and down the surf coast the Princess blocked up just after Avalon airport, took an hour to get from there to Geelong, couldnt find any obvious holdups once we got there though. That stretch will be so much better once the bypass is done, travelling through Geelong to go down the coast can be a real holdup on a trip

yep its kinda screwed...gets worse as you get into geelong, 4 lanes into 2 (actually 3 but cars use the third as a parking lane) right through geelong.....1 main "through" road, which is uaually packed 2 wide with trucks up and over the hill......nice 30 - 40kph through........
i have to traverse that every day to and from work.....fun

be much happier when im working in melbourne to be honest
