It really is a cost thing, disc brakes are far better. Better stopping power, better fade resistance and wear.
All the big US pickups have four wheel disc brakes including the F450 that has a 15 tonne tow rating. Likewise all the Euro vans have gone four wheel discs. The Thai Utes have kept their rear drums due to cost
