You could be right, but Sync 3 v3.4 is an easy USB stick upgrade from Sync 3 v2.0.
Officially registering with Ford Owners (
https://www.ford.com.au/) should provide the Sync 3 v3.2 download for anyone on Sync 3 v2 or newer that would like the new v3 interface.
My APIM origianlly had Sync 3 v2.0 installed from factory and I have done software updates for it to support the FordPass app.
