The day was bright and sunny
The wind had hardly blown
It was like nature was holding its breath
Our baby was coming home.
I strapped the capsule in carefully
I checked every strap and belt
This was a monumentous occasion
But it was the most nervous that I'd felt.
Did I strap her in correctly?
Flippin' bloomin' bloody heck
I'd better just take a moment
To stop and have a check.

I pulled out so very carefully
Checked the traffic both ways
I checked the traffic once again
Adding to my wife's dismays.
Did I strap her in correctly?
Flippin' bloomin' bloody heck
I'd better just take a moment
To stop and have a check.
The speed limit was set at 60
I did 40 to be sure
But perhaps that was too slow
So, I added a little more.
I indicated with lots or warning
Braked very carefully
Used my mirrors more than ever before
And was as careful as I could be.

We arrived home without disaster
I lifted the capsule from the car
Carried it upstairs without incident
And released our little star.
Put her in her little bed
A crease across my brow
I wondered what I should be doing
What does one do now?
I looked at my darling wife
She smiled ruefully at me
I asked her what we should do now
She suggested a coffee.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. You'll be awesome parents.

Cheers
