removing that strip does seem like the easiest option.
I noticed another issue on the weekend. The boot door on my wagon somehow got water inside. I noticed it sloshing around when I opened the boot. Suspect it has something to do with being parked facing downward on a slope in the rain.
all gone now after driving to work today
