Thanks guys , Always wanted Makita and kept putting it off . Figured it was too costly for me for the sort of stuff I do . In the meantime I've had two Rockwell's and an Icon , basically budget drills and not hammer either .

Although all were/are 18 V the battery life is pretty average to say the least and the old saying "You get what you pay for " certainly applies in drills .

I got the chance to try the exact same Makita brushless before Christmas and was very impressed . So much grunt . Was in Home Hardware the other week , saw they had two of these kits left so i bought one .. Very pleased .
Doing my fence a few days ago gave me the chance to christen mine and never missed a beat .

My only scary thought ::: I might become a Makita junkie now
