From what I last heard private buyers chose the 5 cylinder more often than the 4.
I bet with this X Class most will be sold with a v6. At least Merc and VW give you and option on your engine choice. Ford said "here is our performance truck and here's the wheezing engine. Bad luck if you want something bigger"
