I’m really not sure what the diesel obsession is all about, it’s a European and Australian thing. I know I’d you compare something like an 80 series landcruiser petrol engine at around 25L/100km to the diesel at around 15L/100km it made sense back then, but today I don’t see the logic. Like all those diesel fart-box VW Golfs getting around, why?

Don't know about diesels in cars but I wouldn't have anything less in a real truck, big or small. Nothing like the torque of a diesel for shifting a load.
