I cannot understand how this wasn't the plan also..it just gives you greater market scope and if it was export-only then Ford N/A which be safe as it has the Explorer to build/sell/protect whereas in China they import the Explorer.
If anyway is interested the Chinese 2.7LV6 Ecoboost 7 seater Edge averages 14L/100km in real world Chinese city driving
which is what my old G6ET averaged at 20km/hr avg speed around Melb...so I would be OK with that FORD.
