The product used under your car (stone chip protection) wasn't a 2-pack product. The new product is much tougher.
Ok, so the price for a full re-spray is perhaps more than $6k, maybe $8k.
Imagine if you have a car worth $2k or 3k, but has a paint work that is in a sad state, sun faded etc, then most people wouldn't spend $8k on a paint job on that vehicle. Its value wouldn't increase above $5k even if it has had an $8k paint job.
I wouldn't put this on a $20k vehicle, then as you describe, it would be a lot of hard work to get it off some time in the future.
