Ah, the heady days of badge engineering...
There was actually method to your madness if you bought a Nissan "Ute"...a rebadged XF Falcon...because if you bought it as a Ford, you only got the 12 month/24,000km warranty. BUT if you bought the exact same car badged as a Nissan, you got Nissans standard 24 month/48,000 warranty.
Of course it worked in reverse as well...but a Nissan Patrol and you got 24/48 warranty...but the exact same thing badged as a Ford Maverick and you only got the Ford warranty of 12/24...
