Because most of the driving I do is on NZ country roads, the 16" wheels actually work better. If I drove mainly on city roads, then the 17" wheels give better grip, especially with the Bridgestone Potenza RE001s fitted (aka Adrenalins).
Wheels are Ford Mondeo Mk4 Zetec Y-spoke wheels (17" x 7.5) with 235/45 tyres. Can post a photo if you're interested.
