Yes, Toyotas were the most expensive cars I've ever had serviced as well. And spare parts the most expensive.

In 1994 I put a Toyota Corona in for a service and the bill was $990 which was a lot of money then. I had to leave it for couple of days to arrange to get some dough. They never even rang to let me know what they were doing and the expected.

At another time for the same car I had to get a small electrical part (a condenser-like thing that fitted on the coil or somewhere like that) - $440.

And my new Nissan Patrol in 2000 - $160 for a set of spare radiator hoses and fan belt. 40,000km service - $945 which didn't include anything other than scheduled service.

I just realised I hate cars! :
