You’re right, there seems to be a lot of speculation.
That newer article you’ve linked also says witnesses reported to police they saw the vehicle become airborne.

Are some members getting info outside of the police release and news items because they know the people involved?

If the steering wheel came off it makes you wonder why it’s fitted to the column in the photos.
