Thanks for that guys ,i went to my local Ford dealer this arvo and was told the bushes were still available, but not cheap,( $15 ea ) and there were 2 of them, so i bought them so that i can get the job done.

I got the car up off the ground this arvo and pulled the bolt out of the rod that connects to the gearshift, as the Ford guy told me this would be the one that was giving excess l / r movement , it appears to be just a nylon sleeve that the bolt goes through ,i'll see when i pick up the new bushes tomorrow , but $15 ea sounds a bit steep , might have to do a bit of haggleing .
