PROCEDURE:
Disconnect the battery (Take off the positive terminal lead) for approx 40minutes to 1 hour.

Once reconnected do the following:

AUTO Transmission:

- Start car and idle in this sequence?
- 2 minutes idling with the transmission in drive and A/C on.
- 2 minutes idling with the transmission in drive and A/C off.
- 2 minutes idling with the transmission in neutral and A/C on.
- 2 minutes idling with the transmission in neutral and A/C off.
- Drive the car on the road, for at least 5 minutes under variable throttle positions.

MANUAL Transmission:

- Same as above, except put the transmission in gear for (drive).

All the best with it.

Hi Guys, a friend of mine has a AU III V8 Manual with cam and exhaust that is hunting at idle when the AC is on. Idles fine (is cammy though) with AC off. I was thinking we should try the above ecu reset but dont understand how to do it for a manual.

I am assuming the first two steps for an auto should be done stationary (Transmission in drive with the foot on the brake) but in a manual thats not going to work. (In gear with the foot on the brake)

Hence can anyone confirm the right steps for a manual and if there is anything else we should be looking at?

Thanks guys.
