Speaking of the XA, Ford US was pressuring Ford AU to adopt the Torino platform but it was too big for the AU market and would have conflicted with the established Fairlane line that was making good money for Ford AU. Ford US persisted and AU designers tried shortening the front and rear of the 1970 Torino body to make it work.

I've never seen the design but I made this several months ago, blunting off the front and rear of the Torino body to see what it may have looked like.
