Thanks Sprintey. FWIW I drove from Brisbane through the Simpson Desert onto Uluru and back to Brisbane in June. With that trip and the Sydney/Brisbane trip I reckon I've driven near to 11,000km just in the past month and I couldn't agree more it is about the freedom and enjoyment that comes from driving!
