That is a very good question! Don't know the answer, but it may have something to do with the fact that all XRs came with the same spindle/upright, so when premium brakes were ordered, they just bolted them on. I'd assume the T series came with a specific spindle for the standard (?) Premium brakes. Still doesn't answer why one is forward and one is back..........
