You don't need recent trauma for nerve stuff.

The sky is the limit as to what is the cause.

Old whiplash, old sporting injury, wrong pillow, overuse, weak shoulder/back muscles, and so on.

Then there's fibromyalgia, diabetes and a whole host of other stuff.

That's why it's impossible to diagnose without sufficient information.

(You're not a golfer, are you? If so, see a psychiatrist, lol)

The good news is that a lot of nerve pain is simply caused by compression.

Mostly not difficult to overcome but may take a bit of time.
