A few Melbourne Ford dealers were advertising cars well under cost, which raised issues with NSW and QLD dealers asking Ford if they were buying the cars cheaper or if there was some sort of sneaky deal going on. This was affecting Ford too as dealers were going back asking for more incentives etc. It affects the brand and resale when you have good product you should not need to sell them below cost.


And yes your correct they can't be seen colluding on pricing.
You have hit the nail on the head here. The people it hurts are the smaller country dealers, the big corporations just like seeing sales numbers
