I tend to agree that a bit more grunt would be nice. I have a 6MPS (and previously an XR6T) and was considering the XR5T for when my lease is up. It is a very nice car and at $41990 it is priced pretty well to compare with the Japs (Euro, 6, Liberty) really - but given it is manual only (ie the performance model) just lacks a bit of oompf IMO.
It probably is faster than it feels given the excellent refinement levels.
