Well if someone else has the second set of keys it make it very easy for them to take your car. I'd advise the police you never had the other set and they ask the previous owner and or car yard a few questions. It's not unknown especially if the car was repossessed from the previous owner and they have a 'if I can't have my car nobody else can either attitude' for a previous owner to take and destroy a car.
