Can't see a lot of pictures

Sorry if this has been dealt with elsewhere but I don't quite know how to ask the question to use the search function.
Just noticed tonight after I cleared Cache etc. When I logged back into this site most of the pictures are coming up as a black box with a white cross on them.
Is this a problem from the site or is it something that I need to do from my computer??
