Yeah mine were faulty but not enough to throw a CEL, the tell-tail sign for me were the AC would trip out and blow hot air (were out on the HWY at the time). A scan showed the AC temp high and that led to the Fan controller. As you know the bloody controller can't be bought separately so new fan/cowling assembly totalling $950 fitted had squared it away:
