Surely they would just use the Australian spec running gear/emissions, then it would just be a parts bin exercise to make it. Market demand, red tape and safety testing would be the only issues. Whether it's commercially viable is another matter.
I do like the idea of Custom options. Select body type, 2wd/4wd, engine, trim level, wheels, colour - could get a unique vehicle that perfectly suits your needs. Obviously you would need to pay a premium and wait longer for it to be made but it would be awesome having that option and it's something that would put it way ahead other manufacturers.
