I think people just need to teach their kids from a young age respect.
When my son (and it is bound to happen) opens the door on someone's car, he's getting a smack depending on how it happened, he's three at the moment and doesn't open the doors but if I am telling him in future be careful and he does that thing some kids do where they just fling the door open, he'll be getting told why it's naughty and he'll be coping one.
