Minor win. Driving home, to pass the time that's involved with traffic in sydney, my son was playing with my wrist brace and fell asleep wearing it. After an hour or so shifting gears constantly (I wish the ute was an auto, but it's not) I had a short massive pain in my arm and now I have very minor movement in my wrist. Finally progress. I would have preferred my fingers start to work, but I can't complain.
