On my XR5 I'm running Continertal Sport Contact 3, have been for 35,000kms and they are still above the tread wear indicators. Never had an issue, rarely hit traction control, even when doing trips to the snow. I have been known to ride the clutch to restrict slipping of the tyres, so the pain moves elsewhere
