If what you said is correct, then test-driving cars is a waste of time, because you won't know until you have bought the car. Company owners know more about their fleet than the people who drive them, and journalists are wasting their time. Heck even the engineers who make the cars don't know what they are making until they buy one.

FWD: 19 city/ 29 hwy/23 combined
AWD: 18 city/ 26 hwy/21 combined
Let's look at another
Dodge Charger R/T
AWD option $2350
rwd: 16/25, awd:15/23
If you are having trouble with understanding it, AWD is more expensive and uses more fuel!
Weights not listed on website, but I am sure you are correct. The rear driveshaft and diff don't weigh anything! LOL.
